About Our Goldendoodle Breeding Program
~~Goldendoodles Make Excellent Family Dogs ~~
Though they are a cross of two of the most popular dog breeds in America, relatively few Americans are aware of "Goldendoodles," a new canine cross-breed that was introduced in Australia in the late eighties. Goldendoodles, are a combination of Golden Retrievers and Standard Poodles. Thus the offspring take characteristics from each breed their parent(s) belonged to. In height they are typically two feet tall. In color a characteristic wheat-colored coat of Golden Retrievers. The aforementioned coat is the primary reason the Poodle-Retriever mix was bred in the first place; in 1989, the Australian Guide Dog Association, a non-profit organization, was seeking a type of canine that feature a hypoallergenic coat and could be trained for use as a guide dog. However, it should be noted that NOT all of the cross-breeds have hypoallergenic coats, and such should NOT be assumed when purchasing any puppy. Coats vary in texture, and may be rough and wiry or very soft. Cross-breed varieties have the reputation of being intelligent, loyal, and affectionate animals. Retriever-Poodle mixes are easily trained and very accepting of children, pets, and strangers; thus, they are not ideal guard dogs, but instead excel in a family setting. Training must be consistent and the dogs intellect must also be catered to;
IMPORTANT!... without regular toys, play, and walks, Goldendoodles will often get into trouble because of their "starved" intellect. It is especially important to train the dog well within the First Year, correcting any negative habits before they become long-term.
Our Goldendoodles are in a family setting - puppies will be raised in our kitchen. We live in North Central PA, w/ eleven acres. As they begin food and water @ 4 weeks, we take our Goldendoodle pups outside throughout the day aprox. every two hours to help begin the house training. Our puppies are kept on papers in a clean environment for the rest of the day. They receive lots of attention from our five children - socialized with litter mates, mother and other family dogs and cats until they are welcomed into your family.

Health Information About Our Goldendoodle Dogs & Puppies
Goldendoodle puppies will be vet checked at 6 weeks, receive (3) wormings and first vaccinations prior to their adoption. We start our puppies on a Lamb and Rice dry formula w/ warm water at 4 wks. The puppies are kept in a clean environment in our kitchen. Our Goldendoodle puppies are outside multiple times a day running and playing with our children, not in kennels.
Buyer Requirements for Our Goldendoodle Puppies
We are looking for a special family or individual that understands the time commitment and energy it takes to raise a Goldendoodle puppy into a loving and loyal dog. We love homes where an adult is at home during the day. Children need much supervision w/ young pups. Puppies need time and patience from their owners. We strongly recommend puppy training. Please, purchase a dvd or book on Puppy Training for the family to watch together. Enrolling your Goldendoodle puppy in a training program at the right age is a good idea. Training will ensure your family the enjoyment of a companion as you welcome your Doodle into your home. Our Goldendoodle puppies are gentle, sweet dogs. If they are taught good manners they will continue being, the perfect family pet.
Thank you for your interest in our Goldendoodle pups. Each pup will be bathed, given a new collar and leash, starter food, a blanket with "momma smells" and all vet info the day of pick up.
