5 out of 5 stars A must-have for excessive barkers!   November 18, 2008
I have a terrier mix who would go nuts if people came to the door or in the middle of the night if deer walked by. Less than one day on the collar and his barking is minimal. I left it on for a few days and he barks nowhere near he used to! Now, I just put it on when we're expecting company. The smell is a little overwhelming, but I only get a good whiff if he's up near my face; otherwise, it's not too bad. The replacement battery was around six dollars at Petsmart and lasts forever, as long as you remember to turn the device off when not in use! The package also comes with an entire additional can of citronella and I'm nowhere near done with the first one. I wouldn't recommend this product for breeds that are known for talking, such as shelties or hounds, but for any others it is a great way to get the barking under control!

4 out of 5 stars Works well on my barking chihuahua!   November 17, 2008
I bought this product after reading the reviews. My chihuahua would not stop barking at the slightest little noise, especially at night. This collar worked well to stop the barking. I especially like the fact that it does not hurt my dog and is non-toxic. The only issue is that sometimes my dog will bark a couple of times before she stops -- she figured out how to do a "half-bark" so that the collar wouldn't spray. But it has reduced her barking significantly.

The collar's battery does not last very long -- I had to replace it after about three weeks of constant use. Also, the citronella spray is expensive and I had to buy refills after about two weeks of use. However, it seems that my dog is barking less now, so I am refilling the collar less frequently.

5 out of 5 stars THANK YOU!   November 8, 2008

I have a 47lb. Lab Chow mix and he barks at EVERYTHING! To the point that my neighbors had complained multiple times to the cops. I tried the ultrasonic no bark birdhouse with very little success. He knows his range on it and will stand just oustide the field and bark. I would only recommend this for small yards. But the bark collar, WOW! He barked one time at a truck passing the house and that was it. He couldn't figure out where it came from and immediately stopped barking and running back and fourth like a mad dog. I saw the reviews and they were all for smaller dogs, so I had my doubts. But little dog or not, this works!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!   October 25, 2008

This collar is amazing! I live in NYC and have a beagle that howled and howled while I was gone for work. Neighbors were complaining and I was getting desperate. This collared solved the problem! I held off on buying a collar because the only ones I had seen at Petco were $100. I couldn't believe the price of this one but decided to go with it when I saw another review posted by someone with a Beagle. The neighbors have stopped complaining, and now I don't even have to turn it on, just put the collar on my dog and she knows not to bark!

The next steps would have been to try a shock collar (inhumane in my opinion but what can you do when you are desperate) or give our little baby up for adoption. This collar has saved us and our dog!

3 out of 5 stars Works but has quirks   October 24, 2008

I bought this collar for a 13 pound Maltipoo that barks a lot during the night. The cartridge is kind of big for a dog this small even though it says you can use on a dog of only 6 pounds. It's not heavy but it's awfully big for little dogs.

The collar has stopped his night time barking but I have to be sure not to have it very snug or else it squirts him when he shakes his head.
He doesnt like having it on and so he shakes his head, then it sprays him.
