1 out of 5 stars Save your money   January 11, 2007

This product didn't work on stains nor odors. Also, the included black light was useless for detecting anything. I've had much better luck with other enzyme-based odor removers.

4 out of 5 stars It works ok   January 3, 2007
It did work. But unfortunately my dog feels the urge to still pee in the house. So I will have to get more, and hopefully he will stop soon. But for the couple of days I used it the scent was not as bad as it was.

4 out of 5 stars Miracle!   September 17, 2006

I bought this because my dogs seem to "miss" their puppy pad sometimes. The smell was getting really bad and embarrassing. I've tried Nature's Miracle...didn't work. I figured this was worth a shot. The blacklight does work but it has to be very dark and you have to be really close to the surface you're checking. This TOTALLY removed the smell. I didn't have any terrible odor after I used it. I did, however, notice that the reviewers with that problem had cats. Maybe it's a cat thing. This doesn't remove the stains seen under the black light but since my carpet is burgandy berber they aren't visible anyway. The only drawback (the reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars) is that it takes alot of spray to saturate the carpet and pad. I will continue to use this for puppy "accidents".

2 out of 5 stars New House with Unwelcomed Surprise!   September 6, 2006

9 Months Later...
I would give this 0 stars if I could figure out how to edit the ranking!

The Urine Gone Kit was a complete disaster for us. It made our house smell horrible for weeks and weeks - a smell that was much worse than the initial cat urine. We ripped up the carpet and pad and replaced it with remnants we had from the previous owners. We had to replace a much larger section than the cat urine covered because the Urine Gone spread into a 2 foot square section. I wish we had just called the carpet guys first!

** In progress **
The 2 Star Rating is for the marketing material and lack of information...

We purchased a house 3 months ago and quickly discovered that two rooms had cat urine in them. We purchased a black light at a pet store and were able to find two large stains - each about a 10" circle. (Use the light when it is completely dark, hold it inches over the carpet and sweep it back and forth slowly.) We tried a gallon of Nature's Miracle and a gallon of another product. Neither was successful.

We just purchased 2-24 ounce bottles of Urine-Gone and poured both on our upstairs carpet stain to completely saturate the area down to the floorboards. 24 Hours later, the smell in the room is overpowering. We are hoping that this means there is a major war being fought from the carpet, through the pad and below and we hope it will end soon. It would be helpful if the product alerted you to this possibility (so you could choose an appropriate time to apply the product and leave for the weekend!). As far as the stain under the black light, the product does not mention whether the stain will remain visible under the black light or not, once treated. We are will give it 2 weeks before we decide to rip up the carpet, pads and floorboards.

5 out of 5 stars It Actually Works!   August 11, 2006

For the last 3 years, we have had a large urine stain on our beige carpet from when our dog was a puppy. I figured I would try this product before I finally replaced the rug. I was absolutely amazed at how well it worked. The entire stain is completely gone! The blacklight was useless, but our kids are having fun with it.
