Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Certainly not new, Zerol is still one of the best options for scooping out hard ice cream. Make short work of rock hard ice cream with these tried and true utensils from Zerrol. A special liquid inside the scoop absorbs the heat from your hand to make se

Amazon.com Review
From the outside, this looks like an average ice cream scoop. It's crafted from durable, polished aluminum, has a classic design, and fits comfortably in your hand. The secret ingredient, however, is so radical that Zeroll products have been displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City: The handle is filled with a permanent, safe defrosting fluid that responds to the warmth of a hand. Hence the scoop cuts into even the hardest ice cream--and the ice cream will slide right off. So, stop bending spoons and start enjoying your dessert! --Ariel Meadow Stallings

2 out of 5 stars Slippery Handle   October 17, 2007

I don't like how my hand always slides when I'm holding the handle. Also, when you're trying to scoop really hard ice-cream, it still doesn't work very well.

5 out of 5 stars Unstickable Scoop   May 14, 2007
I love this scoop! I've been using an old scoop with a sweep blade and never thought this type of scoop would work. I saw one like it on Good Eats and thought I'd give it a try even though it seemed pretty expensive. It's great. The ice cream never sticks and there's no need to put it in water between scoops.

5 out of 5 stars It's Just an Ice Cream Scoop, Right?   January 17, 2007
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

WRONG! This is not just any other ice cream scoop and it's not just an expensive scoop that will do nothing more than the $2 version you bought at the grocery store. This ice cream scoop, complete with antifreeze built right in, will cut right through even the most frozen ice cream. No more dipping your scoop in water to get a small bit of now-watery ice cream. Just scoop right through the ice cream and plop it in the bowl.

Even better, if the ice cream you scooped sticks in the scoop, just hold it over the bowl for a second and it will drop right out when the antifreeze takes over.

And in case you didn't catch it in the other reviews or in the directions with the scoop, DO NOT PUT THIS SCOOP IN YOUR DISHWASHER. You will seriously ruin the scoop and then wonder what happened. Just take the few seconds to wash it by hand and you'll be fine.

4 out of 5 stars ice cream scoop   August 11, 2006

this seems to work well. the handle did retain some spots even after i dried it with a cloth.

5 out of 5 stars Best scoop   August 9, 2006
This scoop works extremely well on ice-cream, sorbet, gelato, you name it. I'm able to scoop as soon as I pull the ice-cream out of the freezer. Previously, I would have to set the ice-cream on the counter to defrost a bit. However, with the Zeroll, the heat from your hand immediately transfers to the scooper and cuts into the ice-cream. Remember not to put the Zeroll in the dishwasher!
