Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The New Platinum Drinkwell Filters are sectioned into 6 individual compartments to allow for an even distribution of charcoal throughout the filter. This provides a more consistent filtration of the water to remove bad tastes and odors, keeping the water fresher and cleaner than ever before. The filters come in packs of three, and are compatible with all Drinkwell Pet Fountain models! Features: High capacity replacement filter cartridges. Each filter is sectioned into 6 individual compartments for greater filtration. Can be used with any Drinkwell model. Filters three ways: Duo density polyester pad captures debris, Carbon impregnated pad for quick action, Charcoal divided into six segments maximizing water filtration. Instructions: The filters fits narrow side down and the black side faces the front of the fountain. The filters will slide easily into place. For Drinkwell Platinum users insert the filter into the two triangular slots in the center of the housing. For users of the original Drinkwell, the filters will fit into the housing diagonally. Rinse the filters thoroughly under cool water before placing into the housing. This will remove any loose charcoal dust, which is harmless. A small amount of charcoal dust may shed for the life of the filters. This is normal and not harmful for your pet. Filter should be changed every 4-8 weeks depending on the size and number of pets using the fountain.

5 out of 5 stars drink well filters   October 23, 2008
I have a drinkwell for my cats and i need filters to make it work.

5 out of 5 stars Cartridges are excellent.   September 24, 2008
These are the best cartridges to use in the Drinkwell. We have five little dogs and need the extra filtration. They are wonderful. Highly recommend them and the seller.

5 out of 5 stars These Filters Are A Step-Up From The Older Version!   August 19, 2008

Since I already posted a review for the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain, I am going to keep this review focused on the product itself, which is the new and improved filter.

I can't say that I was all that thrilled with the previous filter for use with the older version of the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. It was always producing a lot of charcoal in my cats water and although it didn't hurt him, I still didn't like the site of all that "garbage" in the bottom of his water dish. Also, the old filters didn't seem to do that good of job of filtering out the water. I don't know if it was just me, but I didn't like them all that much.

Now we jump forward to the other day when I got the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain for my cat's eighth birthday, which he was simply overjoyed with and stuck his entire face in the stream to get the first drink.

These new filters seem to do a much better job at filtering out the water as it circulates throughout the system. I have yet to see any charcoal in the bottom of his dish, nor anywhere else for that matter. I would definitely recommend that you buy several of these three-packs of replacement filters and be sure and change them frequently depending upon the condition of your local water. Some places have a harder water than others and therefore should replace the filters more often.

5 out of 5 stars cats drinking   July 27, 2008
Since I bought the Drinkwell cat fountain (and keep it supplied with fresh filters), my cats have finally stopped drinking out of the toilet, (they all [3] think they're dogs) and I don't have near the mess to clean up. Yeah!!
