Amazon.com Review
Warm up that patio, deck, or backyard with a decorative Scroll Series copper fire pit from Landmann. The thirty-inch-diameter copper bowl ages to an attractive verdigris hue and serves as unique decor. An attractive, rust-resistant finish protects the scrolled knock-down stand for optimal durability and years of use. The Scroll Series' domed spark guard is equipped with a ringed side handle for easy access to the fire pit when it's time to add more wood. A large cooking grate is perfect for steaks, burgers, or for warming up a loaf of bread as the embers fade. Sturdy construction offers years of firelight fun on summer nights. Easy to assemble, the Scroll Series' portable, lightweight design makes it fun to pack along to the beach, lake, campsite, or cabin. --Brian Olson

2 out of 5 stars I'll have to disagree   October 28, 2008
First of all, I will admit that this is my very first firepit, so keep that in mind when considering my review. I decided to purchase this product for several reasons: 1. Based on the 5 5-star reviews here at Amazon 2. I wanted a copper pit for some aesthetic reasons 3. I thought the idea of a swiveling screen was nice. Okay, the pit works, first of all. However, we are using it on a wooden deck and I can promise you that you will need to place something under it to protect the deck from heat. I went to Lowe's and purchased 4 16" porcelain floor tiles to make a big square under it, and then right in the middle, I placed a 14" square 2" think concrete paver. That, or something similar, is what you will need to protect your wooden deck from heat. Now, I do not feel that I got nearly $150 worth of product in this pit! I wish I had shopped at Lowes or Home Depot first because they have some really nice looking pits for $160 down to $130. One they had was inset inside a square 'table' where you could prop your feet up on to get your toes 'toasty' warm. My biggest complaint with this product, however, is the screen. The screen mesh is too coarse to catch anything but the biggest of flying embers. But, it is very flimsy in construction and the least bump around the bottom ring will warp it (mine came out of round out of the box) and then it won't 'fit' on the inner ledge of the fire pit properly. After a couple of tries, we decided it wasn't even worth using and have cast it to the side! Well, there goes one main reason for choosing this pit. My advice is don't be totally taken in by the photos and favorable reviews because this pit is worth $100 at most.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect For Extending Patio Season   October 17, 2008
Since we got this patio fire pit last year we've extended our backyard season. Sets a nice atmosphere and gives you just enough extra warmth to enjoy the early fall evenings. Throw something on the grill and then enjoy a meal by the fire.

5 out of 5 stars Love this fire pit- attractive and functional   September 11, 2008
We have had this fire pit for about a month now and have had fires in it several times already. We have cooked sandwiches and pies in pie irons and toasted marshmallows, and of course, just sat and watched the flames dancing in the night. We live in Ohio and the evenings are cool enough to enjoy the fire. Since we leave this sitting on our contrete patio at all times, I did drill holes in the bottom of the copper bowl with a masonry bit to allow water to drain out. And I particularly wanted one that had a screen that you could open to add more wood. Much easier than trying to remove a hot screen. This is a sturdy and attractive fire pit. We plan on using it until winter and then will store it in the garage.

5 out of 5 stars Fire pit.   August 29, 2008
I bought this as a gift and the person I gave it to had only nice things to say about it. It arrived quickly and was very nicely packaged. Thank you.

5 out of 5 stars Great Little Fire pit   May 20, 2008
7 out of 7 found this review helpful

This is our second unit. The first one lasted outside, used at least 75 times a year for 7 years. This is a very sturdy, safe fire pit. The bowl is high enough off the deck that we have used a bbq mat from Ace hardware and the deck does not even get warm to the touch underneath. The opening screen is the only way to go, it makes loading safe ( no hot screen swinging around ), and easy. We just bought the new one because the copper stared to get a little thiner than I liked, and the steel grate was warped after some rather large fires. Good Stuff, very happy with this unit.
