1 out of 5 stars can you say cheese grater?   November 29, 2008

I am used to flat emery foot paddles, I use them all the time. The ped egg does have a place you stick an emery on it on the outside...so ok. BUT the inside is basically a mini cheese grater. Not as sharp, but yeah, that's what I would call it. I keep my feet in good shape, and can not use this on them, but I suppose if they were calloused it would be pretty decent. I got it for $9.99 at Walgreens, so no love loss I guess. I am not mad, or bummed out, you don't know until you try. I am sure someone in my family can use it.

5 out of 5 stars Will instantly soften dry, cracked heels!   November 1, 2008
The Ped Egg is truly an amazing product at a great price. I ordered one based on a friend's recommendation. It is easy to use and leaves you feeling like you just had a pedicure. It smoothes my dry, cracked heels and my feet in general. I have tried expensive creams for my cracked heels and it softened but did not help the cracking. This product really works! It is neat and tidy, the "shavings" are deposited inside the egg for emptying into the trash bin (you'll be amazed!) The bottom of the egg has a stick-on emery board attachment for smoothing your feet all over. I highly recommend this product to anyone with dry feet, callouses or thick skin patches on their feet. The Ped Egg will work wonders for you!

4 out of 5 stars Always cynical about seen-on-TV stuff, but....   October 2, 2008

I bought the Ped Egg in the grocery store on a whim. I have very rough, dry feet. I thought I'd give it a try since it wasn't too expensive. I think it works as advertised for the most part. The shape makes it easy to hold and use. The file seems sharper than the Dr. Scholls file I had been using which makes for a quicker job.

My only criticism is that it does not collect the shavings as the TV commercial says. They pass right through the file as you use it. You'd have to be upside-down for the shavings to stay inside.

For the reviewers who said their feet are rougher, I understand what they mean, but I wonder if they used the emery pads after using the file. It's just like using progressively finer grades of sandpaper when working with wood. The file takes off the bulk of my callouses and the emery pad smooths it out.

All and all, I'm pretty happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for me!   September 30, 2008

I recently bought this and absolutly love it! It is not as scary as it looks (cheese graterish) and is only for callused feet. However, my mom (who has the same callus-prone feet I do) doesn't like it... I'm very surprised. I do recommend this product.

3 out of 5 stars Honestly? It works the same as the foot files from the Dollar Store.   September 15, 2008
I'll admit it, the first time I used this product, I was pretty darn impressed. I spend a lot of time barefoot outside, and while I clean my feet every day I tend to get small (but annoying nonetheless) callouses in the same two spots on both feet. Using the Ped Egg, it didn't take long to get them off, and it was the first time I realized that I do indeed have nice feet when the callouses are gone! However, I noticed a heavy decrease in performance the second time around...and the third time I tried using the Ped Egg, it didn't work at all.

I'm definitely not in a position to spend $10 every time I want to use a foot file, so I opted to purchase one from the dollar store down the street rather than purchase blade refills. The verdict? They work the same! The only advantage of the Peg Egg was the shape of the casing, which made the file much easier to hold.

Also, the file from the dollar store actually kept the skin flakes inside like it was supposed to. Sorry Ped Egg, but not matter WHAT angle you file your foot at, flakes are falling everywhere and it's disgusting. Heck, I even tried using it upside down, so that the blades were pointed upwards, thinking there was no way they wouldn't end up inside the Peg Egg now... I was wrong. Am I the only one whose filed callous flakes miraculously defy gravity?
