Product Description
No waiting for a big pot of water to boil. Cook pasta to al dente perfection in the microwave! Saves time, energy and water. Use with spaghetti, fettuccini, macaroni, lasagna noodles, rotini and more! Features water level guides on the container which indicate the exact amount of water to add. There are measuring holes in the lid, to precisely determine exact serving sizes therefore eliminating guessing and unused pasta. The lid also functions as a colander for straining. Conventional stove-top cooking requires approximately 20 minutes to boil water and approximately 10 minutes to cook pasta while stirring, sampling and stirring to determine when it???s done.Fasta Pasta??? cooks pasta in 15 minutes or less, depending on serving size, without cook intervention to stir, sample and stir. Fasta Pasta??? is great for making pasta salads, spaghetti, linguini, lasagna noodles, a variety of vegetables and more. Fast Pasta has also tested non-starch based pastas (soy) and they cook perfectly in Fasta Pasta???. Because the cooker???s environment is ???engineered??? it???s very precise and perfect for cooking soy, rice, corn, and wheat based pastas. No stirring, sampling or cook intervention during the cooking processIncludes a cooking chart that specifies exact cooking times for all your favorite pastas Will not boil overCooks evenly without stickingGreat for dormitory, RV, boat, or cabinDishwasher saf

5 out of 5 stars Didnt think it would work.   August 20, 2008
When I first saw the Fasta past, I didnt think it would work. I have had microwavable pasta cookers before (pasta'n'more, perfect pasta, etc..) only to find out that they dont fully cook the pasta. This one cooked it perfectly. No longer to I need to wait to have a pot of boiling water... cuts cooking time to only a few minutes and you would never know the difference. Save water, Save power, Save money.. I'm going to buy more.

5 out of 5 stars It actually works !!!!!   August 16, 2008
To my great surprise, this thing works exactly as advertised. For a single person the ability to cook small quantities with minimal aggravation is wonderful. I find my personal preference calls for adding salt and extending the time a minute for a slightly less al dente. It does require some preplanning as it ties up the microwave so you have to figure out how to get hot sauce and pasta at the same time. I'm anxious to try it for potatoes.

5 out of 5 stars I agree with everyone else   August 11, 2008

I bought a Fasta Pasta to replace a Pasta Express (or was it Pasta Maker - they look the same to me), after I read an article about the possible dangers of plastic food items with a code of 7 on the bottom, and what a difference between the two! It guides me in deciding how much pasta to cook, which save me my usual cooking of far too much spaghetti. It takes a half a minute to do all the setup work, and then cooking a single serving takes a grand total of 10-16 minutes, depending on whether I'm using angel hair, thin, or regular spaghetti. (I don't like al dente, so I've learned to add a few minutes to the suggested times.) It comes right out of the device onto a plate, and washing it afterwards consists of a quick rinse, nothing more, just a few seconds. Unlike the Pasta Express, the spaghetti doesn't get gummy nor does it stick inside the unit, cleaning inside the unit isn't difficult, and it is so simple to use. So my total time spent from deciding that I want spaghetti through washing the thing takes me a total of 11-17 minutes and is simplicity itself.

5 out of 5 stars What a time saver   August 10, 2008

I have a gas stove that takes forever to boil water for pasta so I don't have it too often because it is such a hassle. I saw the other microwave pasta cooker and was going to buy it then I found this one which is basically the same thing for a lot less. It worked exactly as specified. It was quick and I was amazed that the water didn't boil over. The only thing I would complain about is the portion sizes the chart gives. They are way too small, but easily adjusted. I didn't use the lid but used a strainer-I think it would be too easy to get steam burns using the lid but that is just a personal thing. I would definitely recommend this product. I will also recommend it to my son who is single-I'm sure he would love it too.
