5 out of 5 stars Waring Pro HDG100 400-Watt Hot Dog Griller   June 20, 2008

The unit appear to be made in satisfactory condition. It would be nicer if it's made in the u.s.a. and perhaps it will be more sturdier. The tray appear to be a bit flimsy and that's why it get's stuck when being put back under the griller after washing. You have to buy the small hot dogs if you want to be able to cook 6 hot dogs on the griller because a slightly longer hot dog will only fit 3 hot dogs or hot links on the rollers. Bigger hot dogs also take longer to cook than the smaller hot dogs. The unit itself work very well and the cooked hot dog taste just like the theatre griller cooked hot dogs. For someone who is looking for a grilled/rolled hot dog just like the hot dog bought in a theatre, the Waring Pro HDG100 will satisfy your desire for a hot dog griller cooker.

First one didn't work but second one was promply on the way and worked fine so far.

3 out of 5 stars My fault for not thoroughly reading the description, but...   January 23, 2008
it cooks only 6 hot dogs at a time. My husband wanted a hot dog cooker and I ordered this one. It works OK, cleanup isn't bad, but it sure would have been nice if you could cook a whole package of (Ball Park) hot dogs at one time. If that's not an issue for you, then you'll be satisfied with it.

1 out of 5 stars Good Idea Shoddy Manufacturing   January 15, 2008

The idea of convenient store hotdog grills is a good one, nothing beats that taste. This particular grill however has some serious manufacturing flaws. First of all the lower temp is not sufficient to do more than warm a weiner and takes a long time to do that straight from the fridge. The high temp will cook them to charcoal in twenty minutes. You can switch from high to low when they finish cooking to keep them warm, but that means you have to stand over them to watch for the moment they are done, and again, the warm isn't very warm. Secondly, the plastic lid has very brittle and small hinges. It broke lose as I was wiping it with a sponge. Which brings me to three, it is very, very messy inside, though it does not drip on the counter, and since it is not all immersible, it is very difficult to clean the thick layer of grease it creates with each batch. Finally, the temperature button is very delicate, mine broke and will now cook only on high. My husband opened it up and the switch is all plastic with very thin brittle parts. Like the hinge it seems designed to break even under very light use. I have had other Waring products that were nmuch better quality. This one was a "prize" from work and is now with the other dead appliances in my husbands workshop. I would not buy this one, though I might try another brand.
